Happy birthday to my Great Grandma Naida Pierce!
Isn’t she beautiful??? (My grandma looks just like her!)
She would be 104 today!
Facts that I know right now (I haven’t been researching this side. My grandma just finished putting together a 46 page spread of photos of her! So excited to go see it!)
Naida Pierce born 2 April 1911 in Colonia Diaz, Chihuahua, Mexico.
She married Floyd Edgar Hudson on the 11th of July 1928 in Cardston, Alberta (I’m not sure how they met… I’m going to have to ask my Grandma) at the age of 17.
She died December 16 1986 (I believe I did get to meet her. I was only 10 months old when she died though.) in Albany, Linn, Oregon. She was 75 years old. I heard she had a heart attack and someone found her on the floor of her kitchen (Need to verify that). She is buried in St. Ignatius, Lake, Montana.
I’ve recently learned a few little things from my grandma about her. Grandma has decided she must have loved having pictures. Think about how much cameras and film and getting them processed cost then look at how many pictures there are of my grandma and her siblings (trust me there’s a lot considering). She was very dedicated in that. Lucky for us!
Naida also was very faithful in writing in a journal! I haven’t seen them but Grandma has been typing them up. I can’t wait to be able to read them. She also must have taken a class on writing because Grandma has mentioned many times a project for school where Naida wrote her life history. What a valuable thing! I’d like to get it loaded to FamilySearch Memories. Hopefully that happens before too long!
Happy Birthday Great Grandma! Love you always.
